Stuck Elevator at A.C.T.

Hovering somewhere between opera and musical theater, past and present, and hilarity and heartbreak is American Conservatory Theatre's world-premiere work based on the amazing true story of a Chinese deliveryman who spent 81 long hours trapped in a Bronx elevator. Avant-garde composer Byron Au Yong and hip-hop poet-playwright Aaron Jafferis collaborated on this inventive new musical that follows the fate of Guang, an undocumented immigrant who, fearing for his family, is reluctant to call for help. Julius Ahn (Madame Butterfly, Turnadot) leads an ensemble cast as the starving and dehydrated man who drifts between recalling his memories and remedying his current predicament.
